MIKE REEVES BIO
Lead Host of the Big Show on NewsTalk 820 AM Mike Reeves maybe best known to radio listeners as the co-host of the Nancy and Mike Morning Show. A job he held for 7 years in a row.
Mike is a graduate of the University of Florida and a long time Tampa Bay Resident.
He has worked for several successful radio stations since 1990, all of them locally, with the exception of one year doing a morning show in Dallas.
“Those 7 years of co-host for Nancy and Mike in the Morning were a ton of fun, but I decided to leave” says Mike, because I had always had a dream of doing Talk Radio. “When I was offered a solo afternoon show on a local FM music station, I took it, with the short term goal of working on my solo act, and the long term goal of doing talk.”
Mike joined Genesis Communications at the beginning of 2009, where he did some audio production work and started “Wining and Dining with Mike Reeves”, a weekend show on NewsTalk 820. The show was in instant success with advertisers, due to Mike’s unparalleled credibility on the restaurant scene, because of his hosting Dining Out on Bay News 9. The series has been on the air for over ten years on Tampa Bays only local 24 hour news channel, Bright House Cable Channel 9.
When not hard at work on air, or, preparing for another “Big Show” with co hosts and long time friends Roger Schulman, Jo Jo Walker and Shayna Lance, Mike can be found stretched out on the couch at home, watching the Military Channel, and ducking phone calls from his wife, who’s “honey do list” according to MIke, “gets longer and longer every day”.
“Hosting the Big Show is a dream come true” says Mike. “We take the news seriously, but not ourselves. That’s why, when you tune in, you’ll not only find out what’s going on, but also have some good laughs too.”
Mike has been married to his wife Kimberly, since 1991, and they have three children, two cats, a pug(dog) and a gerbil.
Now that he’s achieved his professional dream, there’s one more thing Mike wants to do. “I’ve always wanted to join the local chapter of the Procrastinator’s Club” he says, “but they keep postponing the meetings.”

Jo Jo Walker
Technical Producer of the Big Show, JoJo Walker grew up in Memphis, TN. and learned at an early age that a sense of humor was a great way not to get beat up. As long as people were laughing, no one was mad enough to hit you!
Since coming to the Tampa Bay area in the 80’s, JoJo has worked at most of the markets radio stations. Having done mornings on some of the most popular stations, JoJo used his common sense to get big laughs anytime he could. JoJo says “Working at News Talk 820 is a dream come true, because I don’t have to stop my train of thought to play a song that I’ve played 50,000 times before!” My wife has told me that “Just because I’m a Republican doesn’t mean that I’m always Right!”
JoJo loves the Tampa Bay area and waking them up with a laugh to go along with their coffee, because waking up is stressful enough. When not working to get you out of bed with a smile, JoJo is a family man and home body. Mainly because, getting up at 3:00am makes you get tired by 9:00pm. We all get wrinkles…you might as well get them by laughing!
